A Must… Converting Every Visitor into Subscriber

by Dan Murray on September 15th, 2009

I say this so many times now its becoming a joke, but some still need telling and/or reminding. So, here we go again…

There is no point of having visits to your website if all they do is come and go, chances are that visitor (he or she) will not come back, especially if there is not a compelling reasons to do so. Lets face it, we all behave some what impulsively when it comes to the Internet, so much so that we can easily forget where we were 10 web pages ago.

The bottom line is that your visitor may not come back to your website again. It dosen’t matter if you have a 1,000 visitors visit your website, if all they do is leave and never come back again. Imagine the amount of potential revenue lost there, simply because they do not come back. Yes, of course, you could have converted a fraction of the visitors into your customers, but that is only a fraction of the potential buyers you could have.

OK, you may say that creating unique content will keep some of the visitors coming back, but very often, unique content is not the solution. The real, long-term solution lies in converting your visitors into subscribers of your mailing list (newsletter, ezine).

Before your visitor leaves your website, your mission should be to convert him or her into your subscriber via a simple opt-in to your mailing list. You should know how to do this by now, but just in case you don’t, I’ll show you how its done in the coming days.

When your visitor signs up to be on your mailing list, thats where the big money comes in, just by follow up with emails. You can get your subscriber to consider your offer, or endorse someone else’s offer (affiliate marketing) to him or her.

Remember… You want to convert as many visitors into subscribers as possible and obtain the potential revenue.
